TIBETAN CHAANG DRINKING HORN - Ca. 19th century AD. > A beautiful Tibetan drinking horn (chaang horn), formed from a natural bovine bone and mounted with decorative metal fittings. The gently curving body tapers toward a narrow terminal fitted with an ornate metal finial, from which a small suspended element is attached by a chain. The wider rim is encased in a repoussé metal mount, richly worked with scrolling floral motifs, while a secondary band at the midpoint provides structural reinforcement and decorative continuity.
