TWO TIBETAN BONE APRONS CARVED WITH DAKINI - Ca. 15th - 16th century AD. > A pair of detailed carved bone apron plaques, each of elongated tapering form and worked in relief with dynamic figures of dakinis within architectural niches. The figures are depicted in animated postures, adorned with elaborate headdresses and jewelry, their expressive features and swirling garments conveying movement and spiritual energy. The upper and lower sections of each plaque are surmounted by foliate or subsidiary figures, framing the central figures.
