JAIN BRASS FIGURE OF PARSVANATHA - Ca. 17th-18th century AD. A cast brass figure of Jina Parsvanatha, the 23rd Tirthankara, standing upon a base adorned with three heads. The enlightened being is sheltered beneath a seven-hooded canopy, a symbol of his divine protection by the serpent king Dharanendra. The figure retains its characteristic calm expression and elongated proportions, framed by a pierced aureole with scalloped edges and stylised motifs.
