The figures capture the youthful charm and divine playfulness of Krishna, a central theme in Hindu devotional art.Krishna’s butter-thieving episodes are among the most beloved tales from his childhood. As a mischievous young boy in the village of Gokul, Krishna was notorious for stealing freshly churned butter from the homes of the cowherd women.
