JAPANESE TSUBA, ANONYMOUS AND SIGNED YASUCHIKA - Edo Period, Ca. 18th-19th century AD. A group of two finely crafted iron tsuba, one unsigned and the other signed by Yasuchika, a master of the Nara school. Both pieces display exquisite taka-zōgan (high relief inlay) in gold, shakudo, and copper, depicting scenes and figures with remarkable narrative detail. The larger tsuba shows labourers carrying goods across a bridge, while the smaller features a cockerel and an insect, motifs symbolising vitality. Provenance: Prince Collection, 1990s-2014.
