CHINESE CELADON JADE HOUND - Ca. 19th century AD. > A finely carved jade figure of a recumbent hound, shown lying with its body stretched forward and head resting low in a relaxed pose. The form is compact and smoothly modelled, with gently rounded contours emphasising the animal’s calm, resting state. Subtle incised lines define the ears, limbs, and facial features, lending quiet character to the piece. The stone is of pale celadon tone with attractive russet inclusions concentrated along the back and hindquarters, skilfully incorporated to enhance the naturalistic effect. > Provenance: Private British Collection; Ex.
