Bidspirit auction | CHINESE JADE BI DISC
CHINESE JADE BI DISC - Qing Dynasty, Ca. AD 1644 - 1912. > A worked jade bi disc of circular form with a central perforation, the stone of pale celadon tone with soft translucency. Both surfaces are evenly carved with a dense field of small raised bosses (ru-ding), arranged in a precise and regular grid, creating a subtly textured surface that catches the light. The edges are smoothly finished and gently rounded, while the central aperture is neatly carved and polished. The stone displays a consistent colour with slight natural variations, enhancing its visual depth and organic character. > Provenance: Private British Collection; Ex. Old European Collection, previously acquired on the European art market during the 1990s. > > Size: 56mm x 56mm; Weight: 25g > >
