SONGYE WOODEN NECKLACE - Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ca. early 20th century AD. > A necklace comprising a strand of carved wooden elements suspended on a cord, centred by a small anthropomorphic pendant. The necklace is formed of multiple elongated, tapering wooden segments, each individually shaped and strung to create a radiating arrangement.
