AFRICAN MACHETE AND AFRICAN ADIO KNIFE - Ca. 20th century AD. > A pair of Central African blades comprising a machete-type knife and an Adio knife, each mounted on distinct handles and displaying characteristic regional forms. The first features a long, leaf-shaped blade with a central slit, tapering to a pointed tip. It is fitted to a flared, waisted metal handle with a broad foot. The second is a more compact Adio knife with a thick, triangular blade rising from a tall, tapering handle.
