TWO AFRICAN KNIFES - Ca. 20th century AD. > A pair of African knives, each distinguished by its contrasting blade form and handle construction. The first knife is fitted with a leaf-shaped iron blade, tapering gently to a rounded point. It is mounted on a carved wooden handle of warm tone, shaped with waisted sections and a flared pommel. The second knife features a longer, slightly curved blade with a narrower profile, rising from a constructed metal hilt. The handle is composed of stacked, globular elements with applied brass bosses. > Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex.
