LATE ROMAN GOLD OPENWORK RING WITH AMETHYST INTAGLIO OF A CROSS IN A LAUREL WREATH - Ca. AD 300 - 400. A gold ring with a broad openwork hoop pierced with crosses formed of triangular arms with lozenge centres, with circles in the quadrants, all between beaded borders, and a hexagonal bezel set with a circular amethyst intaglio engraved with a cross with trilobed finials within a laurel wreath.
