BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD CROSS PENDANT WITH PALM BRANCHES - Ca. AD 600 - 800. A gold cross pendant formed of four joined circular lobes. The obverse is decorated with a symmetrical design of stylised palmettes and foliate scrolls arranged around a central cross motif, all within a hatched border.
