VIKING SILVER ROPEWORK MEDALLION WITH CROSS MOTIFS - Ca. AD 700 - 900. A silver medallion with the obverse decorated with applied ropework arranged as four roundels, each centred by a cross and small circles, with foliate motifs in the intervening spaces, all within a ropework border, and a rolled suspension loop above.
