BYZANTINE GOLD RING WITH CENTRAL CROSS BETWEEN ARCHANGELS AND STARS - Ca. AD 600. A gold ring with a plain round-section hoop and an oval bezel, flanked at each side by a pair of granules. The bezel is engraved with two haloed archangels standing in profile on either side of a long staff surmounted by a cross, with three stars above.
