EGYPTIAN GOLD BROAD COLLAR AMULET - Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A gold broad collar amulet with squared terminals. The obverse is decorated in repousse with concentric beaded borders enclosing a band of radiating leaf-shaped motifs. The reverse is plain. Two suspension loops are soldered to the upper edge. The XRF analyses performed demonstrate that the compositional profile of the metal is consistent with, and technically compatible with, documented metallic compositions of objects from the attributed historical period, thereby providing substantial material support for the object’s authenticity.
