MASSIVE EGYPTIAN STONE SCARAB - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A large mottled dark green stone scarab with pale inclusions, carved with a broad oval back divided by incised wing cases and a central suture. A double transverse groove separates the pronotum from the wing cases. The head has a notched clypeus and relief eyes, with the legs carved along the sides above a low oval base. The underside is plain and smoothly polished.
