ROMAN BRONZE APPLIQUE OF CUPID WITH SILVER-INLAID EYES HOLDING A HARE - Ca. AD 200. A bronze applique of Cupid, depicted frontally with silver-inlaid eyes, the head inclined slightly to the right and framed by thick curling hair. He holds a hare in his right hand and a bunch of grapes in his left, with the silver-inlaid inscription MLOVIS across the chest. The spreading wings are pierced for attachment, and the reverse is hollow. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1873,0820.176-177.
