STUNNING EASTERN ROMAN SILVER BOWL WITH PERSEUS KILLING MEDUSA - Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A silver bowl with a deep body and a plain rounded base, the rim bordered with an engraved wave pattern framed by notched bands. At the centre is a circular medallion enclosed by a twisted border, depicting Perseus holding a harpe sword in his right hand and the head of Medusa in his left. Restored Size: 190mm x 70mm; Weight: 250g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London art market purchase; earlier with the Parthenon Gallery in the 1990s.
