ROMAN OR BYZANTINE AUBERGINE GLASS PYXIS WITH PUTTI - Ca. AD 400 - 600. A stone pyxis with a cylindrical body spreading slightly towards the flat base, and a domed fluted lid surmounted by a conical knop. The sides are carved in low relief with two playful putti flanking a bird. The underside is decorated with concentric circles.
