ROMAN MARBLE BUST OF A NOBLEWOMAN - Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A marble bust of a noblewoman with centrally parted hair arranged in soft waves and drawn back behind the ears. The face is carved with heavy-lidded eyes, a straight nose, full cheeks and a gently closed mouth. A mantle falls from the back of the head over the shoulders, with the tunic at the chest beneath a curved neckline. Mounted on a modern stand. For similar see: Musei Capitolini Inventory: inv.
