A gold ring with a rounded hoop expanding into broad shoulders and an oval bezel set with a dark glass intaglio engraved with a profile portrait of a young emperor facing left, with short curled hair, a deep-set eye, straight nose and bare neck. The stone is held in a plain raised gold frame.
