BYZANTINE REVIVAL GOLD AND GARNET CROSS PENDANT - Ca. AD 1700 - 1850 . A gold cross pendant with broad rectangular arms and hinged fittings above and below. The obverse is bordered with twisted wire and decorated with applied pellets arranged along the arms and shaft, with a central garnet cabochon in a circular cell and a second pear-shaped garnet below. The reverse is decorated with chevron motifs. Size: 60mm x 34mm; Weight: 16.8g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier held in an old family collection formed over the period 1960s–2000.
