LATE ROMAN / EARLY BYZANTINE GOLD RING WITH BLUE GLASS INSET AND FOUR PEARLS - Ca. AD 400 - 500. A gold ring with a broad hoop expanding to a high bezel set with a rectangular blue glass inset within a raised gold frame. Four pearls are mounted around the central setting in individual cone-shaped cells, with applied scrolls and pellets arranged between them.
