IRON AGE MEDITERRANEAN AREA LAPIS LAZULI AND HIGH KARAT GOLD NECKLACE - Ca. 900 - 300 BC. A restrung necklace composed of disc-shaped lapis lazuli beads interspersed with small biconical gold spacers. The central section includes ribbed gold tubes alternating with lapis discs. Two banded agate barrel beads are symmetrically positioned near the clasp. Size: 340/680mm x 5mm; Weight: 41g Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the London Art market, 1970s.
