BRONZE AGE / EARLY GREEK PERIOD BRONZE SWORD WITH STONE POMMEL - Ca. 1200 - 900 BC. A bronze sword with a long blade tapering to a narrow point. Three ribs extend along the blade from the shoulders. The arched guard follows the line of the shoulders and continues into a straight cylindrical hilt, ending in a hemispherical stone pommel with a central knop. Size: 530mm x 80mm; Weight: 1kg Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in Dr. Roozendaal collection, The Netherlands, 1970s-1980s.
