Vintage Eau Forte Originale Aquatint EtchingPainting Eiffel TowerIt is indeed a print. Eau forte original means "original etching".The image was copied from an original painting onto a waxedcopper plate that was then etched with acid to create a patternof the image in relief. The copper plate is then inked andpressed onto a blank sheet of (damp) paper and the image istransferred onto it. The print or 'etching' is then tinted by handwith watercolors and gouache.The artwork is in very good condition. It has been removed fromthe frame for inspection. There is an impression on the edges ofthe print which indicates that it is an etching.This is an exceptional work of color tints and built-up gouache!. Provenance from a deceased collector in Miami Beach. We have included quality images to show the condition.The artwork dimensions are Approx. 13" x 9", the board dimensions are Approx. 19" x 13".
