After Antonio Canova, Venus Italica, a Cast Composite Sculpture - This sculpture is a cast composite reproduction of Antonio Canova’s Venus Italica. The figure is depicted in a classical contrapposto pose, clutching drapery to her chest with her right hand while looking over her left shoulder. The piece is finished in an off-white colour intended to mimic the appearance of marble. A small, ornate footstool or casket is positioned by the figure's right heel. The sculpture is mounted on an integrated circular base which sits atop a separate, two-tiered stepped circular plinth. The rear of the integrated base features the incised characters L T P A T.
