A Scheurich Keramik Fat Lava floor vase Height 55cm - A large mid-century West German earthenware floor vase manufactured by Scheurich Keramik. The cylindrical body, form 284, features a slightly tapered foot and a prominent, overhanging rounded rim. The exterior is decorated with a combination of glazes including a matte, speckled beige sand-coloured glaze to the lower section and rim, and a glossy orange-red glaze to the upper section. The two areas are separated by a band of thick, tactile dark brown and black Fat Lava drip glaze applied in a rhythmic zigzag pattern. The interior is finished with a dark brown glaze. The base features the incised form number 284-53 and the words W. GERMANY arranged in an arc. Height: 53 cm.
