A Collection of Mid-20th Century Postcards and Postal Ephemera in a Green Metal Index Drawer - A large collection of postcards and postal ephemera, primarily dating from the mid-20th century, housed in a single-drawer green-painted metal index filing box. The collection comprises a diverse range of topographical postcards featuring UK locations such as Brecon Cathedral, The Square in Bournemouth, Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, and the Vale of Glenariff in County Antrim. International cards include views of Victoria, Canada, and a Gibraltar Rock Ape. In addition to standard postcards, the drawer contains postal history items including aerogrammes and official correspondence. One air letter is postmarked Durham, 1 July 1969, and is addressed to Mrs T. Dawson, Rockside, Station Ave. South, Fence Houses, Houghton-le-Spring. There is also a card from the Post Office Savings Department, Savings Bank Division, Harrogate, Yorkshire, regarding a deceased account holder with the handwritten reference P/48 DC B26A J. Phuler dec'd.
