Two Soviet Union Military Items Comprising an Officer's Visor Cap and a 10-Year Service Medal - A late-era Soviet Union military lot comprising an officer's visor cap and a medal for impeccable service. The cap is constructed with a black wool crown and band, featuring gold-coloured braided wire chin cords secured by two small brass-toned buttons embossed with the Soviet star. The gold-toned metal cap badge consists of a laurel and oak leaf wreath surrounding a central red enamel five-pointed star with a hammer and sickle. The interior features a black leatherette diamond-shaped sweat-patch with a gold-stamped Moscow maker's mark dated 1991 and a state standard number. A yellow stamp indicates size 57. The bronze-coloured medal for impeccable service is the 3rd Class award for ten years of service. The obverse depicts a large five-pointed star with a central hammer and sickle set against radiating rays, while the reverse is inscribed in Cyrillic for 10 years of irreproachable service in the USSR armed forces. It is suspended from a red silk moire ribbon with green borders and two central yellow stripes, mounted on a pentagonal aluminium plate with a safety pin fastening.
