A Collection of Victorian Glass Apothecary and Chemist Bottles - An assortment of eleven antique glass apothecary and chemist bottles of various forms and colours. The group includes a large emerald green cylindrical bottle with vertical ribbing, a faceted black stopper, and a red and gold-bordered label printed with LIQ. AMM. FORT. There is a clear glass cylindrical shelf bottle with a ground glass stopper featuring etched frosted lettering reading DIL ACID HYDROCHLORIC HCl + Aq. The collection also contains three large light green hexagonal poison bottles with vertical ribbing to five sides, currently without stoppers. Other items include a large dark green cylindrical bottle with vertical ribbing and a spherical glass stopper, two clear glass rectangular bottles with ground glass stoppers, a small green glass rectangular bottle with vertical ribbing and a square-topped stopper, a small green glass hexagonal bottle missing its stopper, and an amber glass cylindrical bottle with a cord tied around the neck and a black stopper. The hexagonal green bottles are of the ribbed type used for identifying poisonous contents by touch.
