The piece is formed as a stylised fish, featuring a deep orange glazed central well and three cigarette rests. The white body is printed in black with the slogans Der milde Balle - ZUM GROG and O.C. BALLE FLENSBURG. A small black dot represents the fish eye at the broader end.
