A French Style Barbotine Faience Vase on Stand 47cm - A French style barbotine pottery vase of ovoid form with a flared rim. The body is decorated in the barbotine technique with hand-painted slip flowers and foliage in relief, featuring white and yellow blossoms with green and autumnal leaves against a dark mottled brown ground. A butterfly is depicted in flight among the leaves. The rim is featuring a stamped repeating arch pattern. The vase is supported by a dark-stained wooden tripod stand with three scrolling foliate-carved legs joined to a circular base. The interior at the top is finished with a dark matte glaze.
