A Sterling Silver Gilt Lined Cigarette Case Birmingham 1919 circa 56g net - A sterling silver cigarette case of rectangular form, featuring rounded corners and a slightly curved profile. The exterior is decorated with a large, centrally engraved script monogram of three entwined letters. The case opens via a push-button release to reveal a gilded interior, fitted with a pair of retaining clips holding a blue elasticated fabric strap. The interior base and lid bear several marks: a rectangular reserve reading H & H Ld, an anchor mark, a walking lion passant, and a capital letter U within a shield-shaped cartouche. A secondary partial mark is visible on the opposing interior surface. Weight: 56.37 g.
