Arthur Beecher Carles Jr (Phila.1882-1952) figure drawing of a woman, drawing in graphite on paper, matted and framed. Carles' art can be found in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and more. The portrait (approx 4.5" x 6.5") is nicely matted and framed to approx 12" x 14". The art is from the estate of Benjamin Franklin Hammond, PhD. Dr. Hammond was "an emeritus professor of microbiology in University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine and the school’s former associate dean of academic affairs" (source: University of Pennsylvania's Almanac).
