AN ISLAMIC TALISMANIC SILVER AND CARNELIAN SIGNET RING. - A Middle Eastern talismanic signet ring featuring a silver setting and a central carnelian intaglio. The oval carnelian cabochon is flat-topped and engraved with five horizontal registers separated by parallel incised lines. The inscriptions consist of various Eastern Arabic numerals and repeating calligraphic motifs, a style consistent with Islamic talismanic traditions used for protective or spiritual purposes. The high bezel setting is constructed with an elaborate gallery decorated with multiple layers of filigree, rope-twist wirework, and granulation.
