AN ISLAMIC SILVER TALISMANIC RING WITH ENGRAVED GREEN AGATE. - An Islamic talismanic signet ring composed of silver-toned metal set with a large, oval green agate cabochon. The face of the stone is hand-incised with four lines of fine Arabic calligraphy comprising the final two verses of Surah Al-Qalam (The Pen, 68:51-52) from the Quran, traditionally invoked for protection against the evil eye. The stone is secured in a bezel setting with a decorative base featuring vertical fluted lines creating a sunburst effect. The shank is designed with architectural split shoulders consisting of three raised bands and oxidised channels.
