AN ISLAMIC SILVER TALISMANIC SIGNET RING WITH INTAGLIO-ENGRAVED GREEN AGATE. - A talismanic signet ring featuring a large, oval, cabochon-cut green agate (chalcedony) set in a silver-toned metal mounting. The surface of the stone is intaglio-engraved with Arabic script, reading Wa Allahu khayru al-raziqin (And Allah is the best of providers). The calligraphy is set within a decorative border featuring foliate scrolls and clusters of dots. The agate is secured in a saw-tooth bezel setting. The shoulders of the shank are decorated with engraved palmette and foliate motifs.
