AN ISLAMIC SQUARE INSCRIBED CARNELIAN AMULET SEAL STONE WITH NAD-E ALI PRAYER. - A square carnelian (red agate) amulet or seal stone, featuring dense Arabic calligraphy etched into the surface and highlighted with white pigment. The composition is organised into three distinct sections. The central square contains the Quranic inscription Nasr min Allah wa fathun qarib (Victory from Allah and a near opening), taken from Surah As-Saff (61:13). This is surrounded by a square border containing the Nad-e Ali prayer, a well-known invocation in the Shia tradition that begins, Call upon Ali, the manifester of wonders. The outermost border consists of further Quranic verses and divine names, with the name Allah appearing at the top centre. The reverse of the stone reveals the natural deep reddish-brown banding and translucency of the agate, showing some darker mottled inclusions. The piece serves as a talismanic object, likely intended for personal protection or as a ceremonial seal.  Approximately 8.6 x 8.4cm
