A PAIR OF INDO-PERSIAN CARVED JADE AXEHEADS, 18TH/19TH CENTURY. - A pair of carved hardstone axeheads or adzes carved from a dark green mottled jade. The material exhibits deep green tones with lighter inclusions and dark, nearly black, mottling. Each panel is shaped and polished to a smooth finish. They feature several small, flush-set metal pins, possibly copper or brass, embedded into the outer surface, which likely served to secure the stone. L: Approximately 8.6cm
