A MUGHAL STYLE ROCK CRYSTAL OR GLASS KHANJAR HILT. - A finely carved rock crystal or glass khanjar hilt of curved form, decorated throughout with deeply engraved scrolling floral and foliate motifs. The rounded pommel and lower section are embellished with intricate floral designs, while the transparent crystal body displays exceptional clarity and lustre. The base terminates in a bifurcated mount designed for attachment to a blade. The elegant floral ornament reflects the decorative vocabulary associated with Mughal courtly arts, where hardstone carving and naturalistic floral motifs were highly prized.
