AN OTTOMAN CALLIGRAPHIC TUGHRA WITH POLYCHROME FLORAL DECORATION, 20TH CENTURY. - This calligraphic work on toned paper features a large, central Ottoman Tughra, the highly stylised royal monogram of a Sultan, executed in pen and black ink. The central calligraphy is flanked by two delicately hand-painted floral bouquets in a traditional Ottoman style, using a palette of blue, white, and green. A smaller floral sprig is positioned in the lower-left corner. A block of fine Arabic script is inscribed in the lower-right quadrant, likely containing a prayer, poem, or artist attribution.
