ATTRIBUTED TO HUSAYN, AN OTTOMAN CALLIGRAPHIC PANEL IN JALI THULUTH SCRIPT, DATED 1364 AH - A calligraphic panel executed in white gouache or ink on a hand-painted deep blue ground on paper. The central composition features a monumental Quranic inscription in Jali Thuluth script, reading Inna Allaha ala kulli shay'in qadir (Indeed, Allah is powerful over all things). The work is signed in the lower right of the blue panel Katabahu Husayn (Written by Husayn) and bears a Hijri date to the lower left including the characters 1364, indicating a date in the 14th century Hijri (late 19th or early 20th century). The calligraphic field is enclosed by a narrow white border and a wider decorative frame of repeating red and gold floral motifs on an ochre ground. Approximately 37.4 x 29.7cm
