IBN AL-HAJIB. AL-SHAFIYAH. 1343 AD (744 AH). MANUSCRIPT TREATISE ON ARABIC MORPHOLOGY. - An Arabic manuscript of Al-Shafiyah, a foundational treatise on morphology (sarf) by the polymath Ibn al-Hajib (d. 1249 AD). The work is written in a neat Naskh script in black ink on cream-toned paper. Prominent rubrication in red ink highlights headings, key terms, and structural markers. The colophon on the final leaf states that the manuscript was completed on 9 Safar 744 AH (1343 AD) by the scribe Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Ridwan al-Ba'li al-Mawsili al-Shafi'i, who notes the work was for his own personal use. Numerous pages contain dense marginalia and interlinear annotations in several later hands, reflecting the text's pedagogical application. The volume is bound in a later quarter-leather binding with marbled paper-covered boards and gilt-tooled accents to the spine. Approximately 19 x 14cm
