A CARVED EMERALD AND RUBY FIGURE OF A PARROT IN THE MUGHAL STYLE. - A carved gemstone figure depicting a parrot or parakeet perching atop a stylized foliate base. The main body is carved from a single piece of vibrant green gemstone which appears to be emerald, exhibiting characteristic natural internal inclusions known as jardin along with visible fractures and surface-reaching fissures. The eye is set with a single small, circular red gemstone cabochon that appears to be a ruby. The carving features incised detailing to the wings, tail, and base to represent feathers and foliage.
