A LARGE OTTOMAN STYLE FRAMED ILLUMINATED CALLIGRAPHIC PANEL OF SURAH AL-FATIHAH. - A professional illuminated calligraphic panel (Tazhib) featuring Surah al-Fatihah, executed in ink, gouache, and gold on paper. The central circular composition contains the phrase Al-hamdu lillahi Rabbil-Alamin (All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds) written in a bold, interlaced Jali Thuluth script. The remaining verses of the Surah are arranged in a circular format around this central phrase. A header directly above the central roundel is inscribed with the title Surat al-Nahl. The calligraphy is set within a scalloped blue border, with radiant floral shamsa motifs in blue, lilac, and gold extending across the main field. The work is framed by a wide, complex border of interlocking scrolling foliate and floral motifs in a palette of lilac, blue, turquoise, and gold, featuring large decorative corner spandrels.
