AN ISLAMIC TWO-TONE TALISMANIC SIGNET RING WITH ENGRAVED HONEY-COLOURED AGATE. - An Islamic talismanic signet ring of two-tone construction. The centrepiece is a large, oval, honey-coloured translucent agate, often referred to as Aqeeq. The stone is intaglio-engraved with multiple lines of Arabic calligraphy, including the Shahada, with the engravings filled with a black pigment to improve legibility. The agate is set within a decorative scalloped yellow-metal bezel, likely brass. The broad shank is fashioned from white metal with a series of parallel bands featuring a textured twisted rope-work design.
