AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN CARVED HARDSTONE FIGURINE OF THE HORUS FALCON. - A carved stone zoomorphic figurine depicting the Horus falcon, rendered in the Ancient Egyptian style. The piece is fashioned from a mottled black and white hardstone, such as granite or diorite, featuring a speckled texture throughout. The bird is depicted in a formalised, upright perching stance on an integral rectangular plinth. Anatomical details are indicated through simple relief carving and shallow incisions; the eyes and beak are slightly raised, while the folded wings and talons are defined by linear incisions. The form is characteristic of votive amulets and figurines from the Late Period to the Ptolemaic Period.  H: Approximately 5.4cm
