AN EASTERN ALABASTER TELL BRAK EYE IDOL, 3500-3300 BCE. - A carved alabaster votive figurine of the type associated with the Eye Temple at Tell Brak, Syria, dating to the Late Chalcolithic period, approximately 3500 to 3300 BCE. The object features a characteristic bell-shaped, flattened body surmounted by two conjoined circular eyes, each with a central perforation. Carved from a light-coloured stone, likely alabaster, the piece exhibits a smooth but weathered surface. The base is flat, allowing the idol to stand upright.
