Notes Salah Taher was one of the leading figures of Egyptian modernism and played a pivotal role in shaping Egypt’s modern artistic identity during the twentieth century. His work evolved from figurative painting towards increasingly abstract and symbolic compositions, characterised by expressive colour, layered forms, and spiritual undertones. Taher’s paintings are represented in major international collections, including the White House Collection and the Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Doha. His works remain among the most sought-after examples of modern Egyptian art.
